Although relative humidity values will trend higher for most locations today, winds will increase and be much stronger during the afternoon and evening hours. Minimum afternoon relative humidity values generally ranging from 20 to 30 percent are expected from midday to mid afternoon. Winds will strengthen from the south and southeast to 10 to 20 mph during the afternoon with gusts with gusts as high as 20 to 35 mph possible. The strongest winds are expected after relative humidity begins to climb late in the afternoon and evening. These conditions combined with the recent days of strong drying will produce elevated fire danger levels through early this evening.
